Illumination make LED color mixing

The use of illumination design and analysis software enables verification of the efficacy of color mixing of LEDs prior to product fabrication, saving time and expenditure, say Ryan Williamson and John Koshel.
Color mixing of LEDs currently receives a great deal of attention, especially in the architectural lighting sector. Color mixing is the process of adding the spectral emission

from several different LEDs, usually red (R), blue (B), green (G) and sometimes amber (A), to get a range of desired colors, including various correlated color temperatures

(CCTs) of white. The goal of these systems is not only to maintain one distinct color, but also to allow the user to vary the color as desired.
Optics for color mixing

For white-light illumination, the appropriate output can be achieved by combining the output of discrete color emitters and/or using static white-light LEDs. There are a large

number of ways that effective color mixing can be accomplished, including:

• No optics: the LEDs are oriented such that their outputs overlap at the target; with this approach, there is no control of the illuminance distribution at the target.
• Individual optics: employs separate optics for each of the LEDs.
• Group optic: employs a common optic for a group of LEDs.
• Combination optic: employs individual or group optics whose outputs are then coupled into a final common optic.
• Dichroics: technique that employs dichroic filters to improve the mixing into a common optic.

Color-mixing systems can be simulated using optical modeling software. This enables accurate modeling of sources, optical systems, and optical properties such that a realistic

color distribution is found. The system can be radically altered, and potential problems can be circumvented.

LED screens in Rosso

It is as if it’s been dark for days and then very suddenly: a giant firework extends right across the horizon. What JVR screens show is breathtaking. The 160,000 visitors to

the football stadium of Gelredome in Arnhem, the Netherlands, at the start of November had never seen anything like it.

JVR audiovisual can do anything with video. The word ‘video show’ is too small and simple to express what happened at the Symphonica in Rosso 2007.

Dutch singer and TV personality Paul de Leeuw spent five evenings on a stage where an overwhelming audio-visual spectacle developed. Viewers were rubbing their eyes, unable to

believe what was taking place there in waves and fountains of light and images being projected over them.

JVR has successfully transformed Barco Mitrix LED tiles (3589 in total!) and 300 square metres of Mitsubishi OD10 LED screens into a stunning piece of video decoration. Through

the intensive collaboration with client/producer the Entertainment Group and the facilitating parties Sightline, Stageco, Bart Clement, Tenfeet, and Addikt, a truly unique video show was created.

The screens make it all possible: in one moment the image is being poured out in golden streams over the entire room, in the next moment figures move across the sea of light in

a true to life manner, animations that simply leave you speechless.

You have to see it! Paul de Leeuw stood like a Sun King in the centre of this fabulous fairytale-like light art. In the meantime, the audience saw some spectacular images.

Gelredome heaved and sang, lit up and warmed itself to this wonderful and very special outburst of the newest of the new in audiovisuals.

With the Mitrix tiles that can conjure up beams of sunlight, anything is possible. JVR audiovisual has been able to bring this product to even greater heights. Once again the
